Needs Assessment & Evaluation Anchor SH/HIP Services in Real Needs of Homeless Service Community
We rely on needs assessment and evaluation to inform our program development and our work. Needs Assessment and evaluation ensure that SH/HIP services reflect best practices and meet the real needs of homeless service providers. Our shelter partners use needs assessments to identify their successes and target areas for improvement.

SH/HIP’s Needs Assessment & Evaluation Services include:
- Statewide Needs Assessment - Each spring, SH/HIP sponsors an online statewide needs assessment to identify the HIV-related needs and accomplishments of homeless service providers.
- Self Assessment Tool for Homeless Shelters – For providers who want to identify their accomplishments and opportunities for action, SH/HIP has developed a self assessment tool.
- Evaluation Translates to Technical Assistance - Every SH/HIP training concludes with an evaluation that is shared with our partner agencies. We also conduct surveys on resource needs and specific tools.
