HIV Integration Programs of Health Imperatives

SH/HIP’s training and technical assistance services have been used by health and human service programs and organizations across Massachusetts that work with people experiencing homelessness and who may be at risk for HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis and/or accidental overdose.

Our trainings can be custom designed and tailored to meet your staff needs. Trainings can be offered at your site, or conducted in a regional location.  Each training offers experiences that build the participants capacity to meet the needs of their clients/patients/program participants. We engage staff in delivering improved services and creative action planning.

Trainings can be different lengths of time:

  • half-day (3 hours)
  • full day (6 hours)
  • multiple days

They can be stand alone or part of a series. Introductory discussions can be scheduled for 1-hour. We can also develop and lead individualized webinars (60-90 minutes) for organizations.

Our trainings are skills-based and rooted in principles of adult learning. They utilize the experience of our participants, and build on their expertise. We often work with organizations to assess the needs of their staff to ensure that our planned curriculum responds to staff’s real needs. Our curriculum development has a track record of success and engagement, resulting in sustainable changes within organizations and in individual practice.

Curriculum development and trainings are the centerpiece of our capacity-building services. We also provide the following consulting services to support the growing capacity of our partners:

  • Needs assessment
  • Resource development
  • Protocol development
  • Evaluation
  • Integration Planning for HIV/AIDS, viral Hepatitis, Overdose Prevention
  • Harm reduction integration
