where applicable: We are confident that our course meets the standards and objectives of what your
licensing board or organization considers appropriate continuing education in your field or
specialty. We believe your board will likely accept our course work hours towards your
re-certification.
However, for official approval and to receive CE credit from a licensing board not listed above, you
must submit course information and CE hours earned directly to your individual
licensing/certification board -- typically with your re-certification application. Workshop
participants will receive a certificate that will document your participation, and/or completion,
and CEUs where earned.
The Connecticut Certification Board (CCB) (for substance abuse counselors) approved credits are generally
accepted by most state substance abuse licensing boards through its IC&RC membership reciprocity
agreement (check with your local chapterand let us know if you need additional documentation beyond your certificate of course completion). ).
The American Academy of Health Care Providers in the Addictive Disorders approved credits are for
Certified Addictions Specialists. These CEUs are valid for all CASs practicing in any US state.
The Massachusetts Chapter of the NASW continuing education approval is typically accepted by all US
NASW Chapters through its agreement of reciprocity (check with your local chapter).
Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association (MMCEP/MaMHCA) approved credits are valid for
Massachusetts licensed practitioners only. We encourage mental health practitioners from all other
states to inquire directly to his/her respective licensing board regarding acceptance of continuing
education credit for this workshop. Workshop participants will receive a certificate that will
document your participation, and/or completion, and CEUs where earned.
Please note, however, that all states, and their many different licensing boards, have their own
regulations regarding what constitutes an approved continuing education credit. Therefore, it is
ultimately up to you, the participant, to furnish appropriate CEU information to your licensing
agency to receive official credit for CEUs earned.
If your state's licensing board recognizes none of these organizations, please contact SPHERE and we
will work with you individually to explore obtaining CE approval from an organization that your
state accepts, if possible. You can e-mail us at online-ed@hcsm.org;
when sending a message please write “CEUs” in the subject box.
