Many of us in service provider professions work with people who have been the victim of a sexual assault...whether we know it or not. The Brockton Area SART (Sexual Assault Response Team) and Womansplace Crisis Center are hosting a complimentary breakfast symposium for all professionals who want to learn more about supporting our clients who are survivors of sexual assault. MISSION:  Womansplace Crisis Center (WCC) is committed to working toward the elimination of violence against women and children through direct services, education, and social activism.

Womansplace Crisis Center provides services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.  Our goal is to provide a safe place where survivors can express their feelings, make decisions, and begin to take control of their lives.  We utilize an empowerment model of healing.
Womansplace Crisis Center offers a wide range of services to children, teens, adults, and older women.  For battered women and their children we offer these domestic violence and dating violence services: a hotline service 24 hours a day, seven days a week; emergency shelter; individual and group counseling; legal advocacy; and, crisis intervention at hospitals, police stations, and courthouses.  For women, teens, and children we offer the following sexual assault services: a hotline service 24 hours a day, seven days a week; individual and group counseling (including a support group for non-offending parents); and, crisis intervention/medical advocacy at hospitals.

The community education program offers  trainings and workshops designed to inform the public about the myths and facts surrounding sexual assault and domestic violence and to empower women and men to take action towards ending violence of all forms. Presentations with age specific information can be designed for middle and high school students, college students, adults, and service providers.  The volunteer program offers an extensive training twice a year to help prepare our volunteers to do this work.  Womansplace Crisis Center provides multi-cultural services in order to meet the needs of the diverse populations in our area.  Individual counseling, support groups, education programs, and all types of advocacy are offered in Spanish, Cape Verdean Creole, and Portuguese.  The bi-lingual/bi-cultural staff provides outreach to area communities and strives to create awareness and sensitivity around cultural differences.
