Brockton Communities Mobilizing
for Change on Alcohol (CMCA)


Brockton CMCA is a science based, community-organizing program designed to reduce accessibility of alcohol to adolescents by changing community standards, policies, and practices.

Brockton CMCA works to decrease underage drinking by promoting the good behaviors that are the actual norm among Brockton youth through marketing and outreach and by decreasing availability of alcohol to youth by changing community policies and standard.

Why focus on Alcohol? Alcohol is the most widely used drug among youth, more than all illegal drugs combined, and is associated with a host of risk behaviors: violence, substance use, school-drop out rates, teen pregnancy, delinquency, depression and anxiety.
