Welcome


Health Imperatives provides on-site primary care and psychiatric services to youth in Department of Youth Services (often abbreviated as DYS) custody in the Southeastern Region.  For the past fourteen years we have provided such services to the following programs:

  • Old Colony YMCA Boy's Programs (Brockton)
  • Old Colony YMCA Girl's Program (Brockton)
  • Howland Detention Unit (Taunton)
  • Goss Secure Treatment Unit (Taunton)
  • Teamworks (Plymouth)

In 2010 we began providing services to three residential programs, Bishop Rocco (Lakeville), Phanuef Center (Brockton) and Pilgrim Center (Braintree).

We work closely with the Department of Youth Services and the Old Colony YMCA Staff to provide quality services that meet the diverse health needs of program residents.  Our efforts have resulted in both improved health status among the residents as well as integration of residents' health needs into the overall services of the DYS Program.

Services are provided by a Nurse Manager, Registered Nurses, Nurse Practitioners and a Health Services Coordinator.  Pediatricans from Brockton Neighborhood Health Center provide weekly services to residents that require physican visits.  We provide 24-hour coverage to the above named facilities.

Specific services include:

        -medical histories
        -nursing assessments
        -physical exams
        -sick calls
        -referrals for medical
         specialty and dental care
        -patient education
